As at December 31, 2005:

The Offshore Financial Sector makes up 30% of the total Gross Domestic Product of the Islands.
The Islands are home to 5,200 Mutual Funds.
There are 312 banks domiciled in the Cayman Islands.
There are 733 insurance companies licenced in the Islands.
59 new captive insurance licences were issued in 2005, with 19 being cancelled.
75 new captive insurance licences were issued in 2004, with 26 being cancelled.
There are 100,000 companies registered in the Cayman Islands.
The Shipping Registry has 1,300 entries.
